demand like that, you may think bartenders are a dime a dozen, and the
jobs are just waiting to be filled.
But think again:
Bartending is one of the most competitive jobs in this 24-hour party
town. Hotel-casinos want the people serving their guests - their
gamblers - to be the cream of the crop. And those who make it to the top
are rewarded with a career than can be exciting, glamorous and
lucrative, for those who don't mind the hard work, long hours and
dependence on tips. Bartender in Las Vegas is probably one of the prime
jobs in town.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. •
Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must attend a Bar Code class and pass exam.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work indoors and
outdoors.
• Able to lift 40 lbs. on a daily basis.
• Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Responsible for providing prompt, courteous service from a clean work
station for each guest while receiving money for goods and giving change
to customers in a cheerful, accurate and professional manner.
